The Ohio Department of Education has announced the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21CCLC) new 5-year awards for fiscal year 2024 - 2028. Two programs in the Perry community were awarded the federal grant:

Perry Local Schools - Perry High School ($850,000 over 5 years)
Great Day Child Care Learning Center ($850,000 over 5 years)

21CCLC grant funds will be used for before or after school programming at Perry High School to provide career readiness opportunities for students. Programs tentatively include ACT/SAT tutoring, Makers Space, The Outdoor Club, Project Hope Kitchen, Latinas Unidas, and more.

PHS is excited to offer opportunities in the areas of mathematics, literacy, problem solving community issues, developing a vibrant pathway to graduation and careers, community engagement, enrichment, and service learning. Students in grades 7-8 will also have access to programming offered at PHS. Enrollment information will be coming soon.

We are looking for businesses to partner with to help provide career based opportunities. If you are interested in becoming a workforce opportunity partner for students, please contact Rita Soeder, Career Exploration Specialist at soederr@perry-lake.org.

Another 21CCLC grant was also awarded to Great Day Child Care Learning Center for grades K-6 and will initially fund before/after school programming for elementary students in grades K-4. This means opportunities that existed for our students in the past via the REACH program at Perry Elementary will now be provided by Great Day Child Care Learning Center located at the Manchester Road end of our campus. To enroll, contact Great Day Child Care Learning Center at 440-259-8125.
