District Finances Related to the Proposed Data Center

We understand there are many questions surrounding district finances related to the proposed Data Center in Perry Village. The Board of Education remains committed to safeguarding the best interests of our schools while maintaining responsible financial stewardship.

School funding is a multifaceted system influenced by a range of interdependent factors. At this time, with the limited amount of information available, including any tax abatements to be granted, HB920 rollback, state foundation aid, and more, it is not yet possible to determine the exact financial impact the Data Center may have on the district.

We are working closely with Perry Village Council to ensure decisions serve the best interests of our taxpayers, students, and staff in regard to district finances. Chief Financial Officer, Jennifer Capo, will provide ongoing collaboration and communication as additional details emerge.

The Board of Education strongly supports economic development within our community and values the strong partnership and consistent communication we hope to continue with Perry Village representatives. As new details become available, we will share an updated and clearer understanding of the financial impact on our school district. In the meantime, if additional district financial questions arise, you can reach out to any board member (PerryBoard@Perry-Lake.org) or directly to our CFO, Jen Capo (CapoJ@Perry-Lake.org).
