Perry High School Recognized as Purple Star School

We are excited to announce that The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce has selected Perry High School as a Purple Star School for the Class of 2025! The Purple Star award signifies our school’s demonstrated commitment to serving military-connected students and families.

Apply to Serve as a Perry Recreation Board Member

The Perry Recreation Board oversees recreational activities for youth and seniors in Perry Village, Perry Township, and North Perry Village. The board is composed of one appointed representative from each entity, along with two representatives from Perry Local Schools.

The Perry Board of Education appoints two volunteer members each year to serve on the Recreation Board. A vacancy has been created due to a recent resignation.

Community members interested in serving as a volunteer school representative are invited to submit a letter of interest to perryboard@perry-lake.org by September 1, 2025. Please include any relevant experience and a brief statement explaining your interest in the position. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of youth recreational programming
  • Oversight of Perry Senior Center
  • Approval of budgets
  • High level decision making with regard to spending, salaries and budgets 
  • Management of Directors for both the senior center and youth recreation 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience and interest in either youth recreational programming or senior citizen recreational programming or both
  • An understanding of the role of an advisory committee
  • The ability to collaborate with others
  • A desire to learn and adhere to bylaws
  • Strong decision making skills
  • Availability to attend all Rec Board meetings which are held bimonthly on the second Monday of the month at 5:00 pm
