PERRY MIDDLE SCHOOL

On October 16th, Perry 6th graders had the opportunity to explore various career pathways through off-campus experiences based on their own interests during the annual Share Your Genius Day (SYGD). Pathways included transportation, performing arts, fine arts, healthcare, athletics, public safety, hair and fashion, manufacturing,  and  aviation. Yes, students actually went up in a plane and some even took the controls!

Our 8th graders had a great time visiting our nation's capital!

Mrs. Burke's Algebra I class used VR to determine if there's enough wasted corn in WV to power Charleston for 1 year by turning corn into ethanol.

Students used the Scientific Method to determine how many rubber bands would be needed to make a watermelon burst. The morning science class watermelon had a lack-luster explosion after only 220 rubber bands but the afternoon class needed two days and 610 rubber bands for a much more exciting explosion!
