Internship Spotlight 2/26/26

Posted Date: 02/26/26 (12:53 PM)

Chloe is a veteran intern with an impressive record of hands-on experience. She first took the internship course as a junior during the fall semester, working with the Madison Veterinary Hospital in Madison. She continued her experience through an independent study that spring and then became a paid intern during the summer of 2025.

This year, Chloe decided to try something new. She is working with Allison Miller, a pharmacist at the Cleveland Clinic, and has spent the semester in inpatient pharmacy at Hillcrest. She was introduced to the conveyor system that moves medication throughout the facility and has had the opportunity to observe pharmacists as they review patient charts and prepare for patient consultations. She has also seen the behind-the-scenes process of filling and scanning prescriptions.

Chloe is learning about common medications such as Ozempic and Wegovy, has spent time in oncology, and has gained insight into how insurance works within the healthcare system. She has also met with pharmacy school interns who have helped her prepare for her upcoming pharmacy school interviews that will happen throughout the college application process.

Additionally, Chloe is a PSL student serving at the Lake County Free Clinic.  It’s safe to say that Chloe has made the most of the opportunities she has been given when it comes to career exploration.
