Internship Spotlight 1/29/26

Posted Date: 01/29/26 (02:34 PM)

This semester, Morgan has been completing her internship with an occupational therapist at LLA Therapy in Mentor. She observes sessions, tracks clients’ progress, and takes part in a variety of therapies including behavioral, speech, and physical therapy. Morgan keeps detailed notes about what she learns each week and continues to take on more responsibility as her confidence and experience grow.

As the internship progresses, Morgan has begun interacting directly with clients, helping to keep sessions running smoothly while the therapist completes documentation. She’s getting to know each client’s unique qualities and putting her growing knowledge into action. Morgan has even learned the specialized language of therapy—writing about topics such as emotional regulation, situation cards, sensory binders, “out-of-chair” activities, and the use of augmented alternative communication devices. Working with many of the same clients week after week has allowed her to build meaningful relationships and see real progress over time.

Those who know Morgan also know she’s a talented artist. Alongside her internship, she’s exploring art therapy as a potential career path. Her interest deepened after connecting with art therapists during “Share Your Genius Day,” where she served as a high school helper for the 6th graders’ experience at Stella Art Gallery.

With her curiosity, creativity, and commitment to learning, Morgan’s future is full of possibilities. Whether she continues in the field of therapy, art, or a blend of both, her passion for helping others and her love of learning will guide her toward a meaningful and fulfilling career.
