This semester, Payton has been completing her internship with Mrs. Hopkins at Riverview Elementary in Painesville Township. Payton wanted to explore the world of elementary education and experience a school setting beyond Perry.

Payton has truly enjoyed her time in Mrs. Hopkins’s classroom and has built strong connections with the students. She quickly learned every student’s name and soon earned the trust to lead small groups and work one-on-one to support their learning. She has been thrilled to see measurable growth in the students she works with.
A highlight of the fall was Halloween, when Payton dressed up as Pete the Cat—and the students immediately recognized her costume!

While this internship has been a rewarding experience and has given Payton a deep appreciation for the teaching profession, she is also keeping an open mind about her future. Recently, she conducted extensive research into careers in law and the educational path required to pursue that goal. She hopes to complete another internship to learn more about the legal field. Riverview is grateful for the positive energy and dedication Payton brings to the classroom each day!
