Perry Elementary Recognized as Wild School Site
Perry Elementary was awarded the prestigious Wild School Site proclamation by the Ohio Division of Wildlife on November 16, 2021 for work demonstrating “informed, constructive action to benefit people, wildlife, and the environment on the school grounds.” They are the 197th school to be awarded this honor out of over 3500 schools in Ohio, and only the 2nd in Lake County to be acknowledged as a wild school site.

Perry Elementary students are soaring as they learn through nature in an outdoor class called Design learning. The ability to observe, communicate, collaborate and make connections in learning are being taught in an outdoor land lab and pollinator garden, where the building blocks of life are explored as they continually change.
