John Orville "Pops" Warner, PHS Volunteer Assistant Football Coach
John "Pops" Orville Warner, age 76, died peacefully at home with his family and pets by his side on January 11, 2018. He was born on October 18, 1941 in Painesville to the late Carl and Ruth (Griffiths) Warner.
Pops was a volunteer assistant football coach at Perry High School for over 30 years. He enjoyed taking care of his lawn, building model cars, and watching football. He was also a Civil War enthusiast.
Pops is survived by his children; Michael Warner, Patrick (Cynthia) Warner, and Sybil "Sue" (Lee Caine) Bellinger; seven grandchildren, and two great granddaughters; and his sister, Nancy Tannenbaum.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Amo Jean Warner; and daughter-in-law, Sheila.
A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Perry Cemetery.
