Brenda Joyce (nee: King) Rodecker, Perry Transportation Dept.
Brenda Joyce (nee: King) Rodecker, age 70 of Painesville, was born on September 3, 1950 and passed away on June 2, 2021. Brenda loved cooking, shopping, spending time with her family and taking her grandchildren on adventures. She considered herself a Jack-of-all-Trades. Brenda worked at Painesville City Police Department and Lake County Sheriff Department as a dispatcher. She also worked at Perry Transportation Department as a bus driver. Brenda was the proud owner of Fairport Waterfront Liquor Store and Jewels Dance Hall. She also operated the latchkey program at Our Shepherd Lutheran School in Painesville, where she was very popular with the children and well respected and loved by the parents. She was the operations supervisor at King's Towing and worked side-by-side with her son, Terry King. Brenda's philosophy in life was "Always do the right thing." Survivors are her husband, Brian Rodecker whom she married on July 16, 1988; son, Terry King; sister, Deborah (King) Miller; grandchildren, Makenzie, Ryelie, and Remington King; and many nieces and nephews.Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Sophie (nee: Majka) King; and sister, Glenda Mayse. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 8, 2021 from 4-7PM at Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Ave., Painesville, Ohio 44077. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 11:00AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Painesville, Ohio. Memorial contributions are suggested to Shriners Hospital for Children
