Thank you for your understanding as we extended winter break for our students so we could work through some staffing issues. I am pleased to inform you we will be returning to campus tomorrow, Thursday, January 6th.
Due to staffing shortages, some bus routes have changed. The adjusted morning pick-up times can be viewed here
. A follow-up message will go out if we need to extend this change past Monday, January 10th. Special thanks to our transportation staff who have made every effort to keep our students in school.
Last night, the Perry Board of Education approved a temporary mask mandate for students until the end of Friday, January 14th. Please send your student to school with a well-fitted mask to wear on the bus, as well as in the classrooms and hallways during school hours. While masking remains optional at sporting events or other extracurricular activities, it continues to be recommended and strongly encouraged.
Additionally, we will no longer be sending district-wide notices regarding cases of COVID-19 within our district. You will still receive a notification if it has been determined that your student was on a bus, shared classroom space, or participated in an extracurricular activity with a COVID-positive individual. In order to maintain transparency and comply with orders
from the Ohio Department of Health, any cases for the day will still be available here
on our district website. Our dashboard will continue to be updated on a weekly basis.
We realize that this has been a stressful time for our students, staff, and parents. We appreciate the burden that has been taken on by each segment of our Perry community. Provided we can safely staff our buildings and bus routes, our students will continue to remain on campus; however, I encourage you to have a plan in place should we suddenly need to switch to remote learning or close the district.
We look forward to welcoming our students back to campus tomorrow. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your building principal.
