Additional District Safety Measures, 9/15/21
The district and Board of Education remain vigilant in studying local data daily to make safety decisions appropriate for our local needs. Since the beginning of the school year, the goal is to keep our students and staff healthy and keep learning at school.
As projected by Lake County General Health District, based on Covid 19 case modeling
, we approach the time of year for virus spread. With that, it is time to make further mitigation efforts for the safety of students and staff. The following additional safety measures are in effect:
- Effective today: Additional electrostatic sanitization in classrooms where a positive Covid case is found.
- Effective Monday, 9/20/21: Wear a mask during close contact (less than 3 feet) for individualized or small group instruction to meet the learning needs of students (i.e., to model how to critically read text, problem solving, reteaching, and letter or speech formation).
This means parents/guardians are to supply your students with a clean, multi-layer mask for school. Bus riders are already accustomed to having a mask with them for school. Should a student forget theirs in a locker or elsewhere, supplies will be available in classrooms.
In staying healthy, we have so much to look forward to in the Perry learning experience whether it's in the classroom, on the field, or at an upcoming event. We are thankful for a large campus, classrooms available to support social distancing and state-of-the-art ventilation and sanitization methods. According to health/medical experts, the best way to keep our community healthy and our schools open are to follow the following two mitigation methods:
- Wear a mask
Please be assured, the district will continue to review local health data and procedures to remain responsive to our local needs. The District Covid dashboard and resources are regularly updated and available on the district website
. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact your school principal.
