Lake County Touchdown Club Student Athlete of the Year
Perry High School’s Brock Sivon has been selected as the Lake County Touchdown Club’s Chuck Koelbe Student-Athlete of the Year. Brock received the award on Sunday, December 5 at the Lake County Touchdown Club annual Awards Banquet. It’s an extremely prestigious award named after Chuck Koelbe who helped found the Lake County Touchdown Club nearly 40 years ago.
“In addition to all of his accomplishments and achievements on and off the field, Brock was an extraordinary representation of what we want in our program,” said Perry football coach Bob Gecewich. “Relentless work ethic, high character, drive to improve, accountability, consistency, and a genuine teammate, Brock left a huge positive impression on this team and program. We couldn’t be happier for him to have earned this high award.”
Each football program in the county submits a nominee that best represents their team and then one person is named the Lake County Touchdown Club Student-Athlete of the Year. Qualifications include being an excellent student and football player, as well as having outstanding character and leadership skills.
“As the first Perry football player to win this prestigious award since 1989, we are so proud of Brock and all he done for and means to our football program,” said Perry Athletic Director, TJ Rockwell. “An excellent student, leader and teammate, Brock certainly embodies what the Lake County Touchdown Club Award is all about.”
Brock is the first Perry football player to win the award since David Cassella won back in 1989 (32 years).
