Message From the Superintendent - July 24, 2020
Thanks to everyone for all their work and input as we finalize our plans for a responsible start to the 2020-21 school year. To help us keep everyone informed an FAQ link can be accessed here. I have also included a few points from the board meeting discussion on Tuesday.
Our number-one priority is the safety of students and staff.
It continues to be our goal to provide on-campus learning 5 days/week beginning September 8th as approved by the Lake County General Health District.
Currently, the start date of school for all students is August 24th to provide staff two additional days of training. Virtual Meet the Teacher Orientation will also occur this week for all students.
We will use a temporary phase-in schedule during August 24th - September 4th to ensure ample opportunities for students and staff to learn and understand the numerous new protocols and procedures. The start date for students with last names beginning with A-L is August 24th. The start date for students with last names beginning with M-Z is August 25th.
What will remote learning look like? In early August, families using remote learning will be emailed instructions to attend a virtual introduction to Remote Learning 2.0 to provide an opportunity to ask questions and build understanding.
School restart plans must demonstrate readiness to change our learning platforms based on the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thank you again for your patience as we do our very best to provide students with an exceptional learning experience in a safe and responsible manner.
