Eleanor B. Baker 1915 - 2017
Eleanor B. Baker, age 101 of Madison, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Cardinal Woods Skilled Nursing Facility. Born September 27, 1915 in Denver, CO. she was the daughter of the late Rudy and Leila (Schwegler) Bader. Eleanor received her teaching degree from Kent State University. She retired from the Perry School System as an art teacher, and continued long after as a wonderful portrait artist. She was a member of the Gamma Theta Sorority and Madison Historical Society. Most of all, she was a good person who took care of her family. She loved spending time with them. She encouraged all of her children, and influenced them to find their own creativity through painting. She is survived by her daughters, Terrie Baker and Sherri (Steve) Staines; her son, Robert Baker; grandchildren, Anna (Steven) Hosey, Ben (Katie) Staines, Josh (Elizabeth) Staines and Nicholas Baker; Great-Grandchildren: Joey, Scarlet and Avery.She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Baker; son, William Phelps Baker and her parents.Friends and family will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison. A private family graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Painesville.
