Annual Safety Week

Annual Safety Week

The safety of our students and staff continues to be our primary mission.  September 12th will kick off our annual safety week where we invest the time to conduct a variety of safety drills. This year, we are fortunate to have Officer Pattie with us to present active shooter response training to our high school students on Monday, September 12th from 8-9:30 AM, and to our middle school students on Tuesday, September 13th from 8-9:30 AM. The week’s practice will include safety procedures such as lock-down/barricade drills, lunchroom lock-down drills, fire and tornado drills and evacuation discussions. Please be aware, unless you are otherwise informed, these activities are all drills.

Feel free to contact the building principals if you have any questions.  While it is always important to discuss safety procedures with your family, next week is an excellent opportunity to take a few minutes to have a conversation with your family about the importance of conducting such drills.

As always, thank you for your support in making Perry Local Schools a great... and safe... place to learn and grow.

Kind Regards,
Jack Thompson, Ed.D.
