Perry High School is now offering work-based learning experiences. Work-based learning experiences are a great way of learning about career pathways. These experiences can be broken down into three components:
- Shadowing Experience: A short term observation of a career of interest.
- Internship/Apprenticeship: An internship is a longer term learning experience for professional careers. An Apprenticeship is a longer term learning experience for trade and vocational jobs.
- Mentorships: A long term relationship with an advisor in which career advice is shared. Periodic communication is key. Mentorships will grow from the shadowing experiences and the internships/apprenticeships.
