Twelve schools throughout Lake County were asked to participate in a LEAF Umbrella Project. Each school was given 15 umbrellas to creatively decorate using one of the themes given to them.
The purpose of the Umbrella Project is to give upper level students a project based, and sometimes problem based, project to expand their educational experience in the fine arts. Out of the 180 umbrellas decorated, the top 50 will be displayed at the Great Lakes Mall throughout the months of February and March, and will be re-judged at the mall where they can earn scholarship money.
Congratulations to the Perry High School students who participated and to the 9 students who made the Top 50! Two PHS students were in the Top 10!
