Perry Women's League

Who We Are: The Perry Women's League (PWL) was formed in 1962 under the name Perry Jaycettes, whose primary purpose was to assist the Perry Jaycees. This group has evolved to what is known today as the Perry Women's League. Composed of all volunteers, the PWL devotes their time and energy to fundraising, promoting unity, and sponsoring charitable functions within the Perry community.

The Perry Women's League is a not-for-profit organization of diverse women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and serving the Perry community and its citizens through leadership, fundraising, and friendship.

Our Purpose: The purpose of the PWL is to sponsor and support community-related projects which promote the welfare and development of the community and its citizens.

Membership: Any woman who is a Perry alumnus, or who lives, works, or attends church in Perry, with a commitment to actively participate in community service is welcome to be a part of the League.

Your participation, support, and donation to PWL activities and fundraisers helps the PWL succeed in their mission to make a positive difference in the welfare and development of the Perry community and its citizens.

Perry Women's League Community Service Projects consist of:
  • Community Green Day - founded by the PWL and run with help from PHS Perry Service Learning students.  On the 4th Saturday in April, community members come together to clean up our neighborhoods and raise awareness about recycling. PWL provides breakfast for all volunteers.
  • Christmas Families - the PWL uses funds from fundraisers to purchase gifts for Perry children who are in need from their holiday wish lists.
  • Perry High School Citizenship Scholarship - $500 awarded to a Perry High School senior seeking post-secondary education who has demonstrated outstanding community service. Applications available on the PHS website.
  • Clothing Room (run by PWL volunteers) - provides free clothing to those in need in the Perry community. The Clothing Room is located on the Perry Local School campus and is open the 2nd Friday of each month from 1-4 p.m. Clothing donations are accepted during this time as well.
  • Thanksgiving Families - The PWL partners with the Perry Center to provide a holiday meal complete with all the trimmings for several area families who are in need.
  • The Perry Center - The PWL donates funds to the Center for use in their mission to assist Perry community members who are in need.
  • "Welcome to Perry" Sign - The PWL provides maintenance and decorations to the garden around the sign at the junction of Narrows Road & Route 20.
The Perry Women's League Community Service Projects are funded by money raised from the Bunny Lunch (an annual egg hunt, entertainment, and lunch for Perry community children ages pre-k through grade 4).
Meetings
The Perry Women's League meets quarterly on the 1st Thursday of January, April, July & October at 7:00 p.m. at Perry Public Library.
